Mashable: The Insanely Great Chart of Apple’s History:

This comprehensive chart, created by Pop Chart Lab shows every Apple computer ever released, from the original Mac to the most recent MacBook Air.

Apple History

Okay, so Mashable had this interesting info graphic today (click through to see it at full size) which it thinks is comprehensive and shows every computer Apple’s ever released. It’s not, but it’s pretty close. It seems to be missing three that I was involved with in some way (the 8150, the 9150 and the Apple Network Server) and at least one model I used as a desktop when I was geeking A/UX (the IIsi pizza box, sometime around the same timeframe as the Iici, if I remember correctly). But it’s actually a pretty good list.

And then I found myself drawing circles around things, just for kicks. Blue for computers I owned or used at work, and green for computers I was involved some way or another (mostly when I was working in the long forgotten Apple Business Systems in the server group.

And now I feel old. But in a good way. And I’ve owned a lot of Apple hardware for a lot of years, including what were probably the only functional units of the follow-on to the Apple Network Server (which never saw the light of day…); they ran plaidworks.com for a number of years until all of the power supplies fried… In fact, plaidworks ran on the ANS (AIX boxes) and 8150 or 9150 boxes (macOS) for a long time before I moved it out of the back room and onto a hosted linux box…
